Kawempe North By Election: Hajjat Hanifah Karadi calls for change in NRM campaign strategy & leadership at Secretariat

Defeated Kawempe North By Election candidate Hajjat Hanifah Karadi has called on the Chairman of National Resistance Movement (NRM) H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni to shake and sack the entire NRM Secretariat saying it is not doing a good job for the party.

Basing on what happened regarding the just concluded Kawempe North By Election where NRM was defeated by NUP, Hajjat Hanifah Karadi has called for campaign strategy change by the ruling party to be able to regain the support by the masses.

There is a need to think about changing the current strategy and approach for NRM to win back the support of the masses.

The party needs to look at the issues affecting the common person on the ground.

The party should have instead of splashing the money around used it to better service delivery in Kawempe like providing safe and clean water.

The people of Kawempe are dying in poverty.. people sleep hungry, they sleep poorly and the NRM government has the capacity to change all these things in a minute.

She went on to say that people didn’t vote NUP because they wanted it, this was a protest vote.

Use the money you pay artists to perform to deliver service to the common person.

The presence of security personnel, the mambas, tear gas and all this is Money spent.. Use that money to better the health sector, education, infrastructure and you see if people will not vote for you.

Hajjat Hanifah Karadi gave an example of Prime Minister Rt Hon. Robinah Nabbanja who was not spending less than 30 million everywhere she campaigned. “30 million can do a lot for the common person, don’t throw that money around, use it to better the life of a common person on the ground and you see if people won’t support you”.

Throwing money around is not what Kawempe North people need..no no..use that money to create sustainable solutions to get people out of the current state.

Create sustainable solutions like the creation of an underground water source to support like 50 people or more per day and that doesn’t even cost more than UGX 5m.

Put medicine in the health centres so that everyone who falls sick can be worked on for free and see if people won’t support you.

When you are in power, people have hopes in you to deliver even if you don’t do 100%, do some something and people will be happy.

The president should know that some of these leaders are the ones failing the party. There was no need of those leaders and military presence in Kawempe, use that money to better the service of the people.

People are hungry, people are poor, people have no water. They don’t have anything and there is still time for NRM to change this ahead of 2026.

Also Karadi was not happy with the way the flag bearer was chosen. Let us use the right method and a constitutional one to choose the flag bearer. “You can’t just appoint, let the people pick, let it be a contest like it is supposed to be”.

NRM has 12,000 in yellow book in Kawempe North..where did they go?

Small issues that need simple solutions are letting down NRM and yet they have the capacity to change all this before it is too late.

Hajjat Hanifah Karadi has confirmed to this website that she will continue campaigning and wants to contest in 2026 as well and still in Kawempe North MP seat.
