Jumia inks partnership with OLA Energy to increase e-commerce footprint

KampalaE-commerce platform Jumia Uganda has announced a brand new partnership with African oil & energy company OLA Energy to increase the platform’s footprint across the country.

The new partnership will see consumers across the country be able to pick up Jumia orders from select Ola energy fuel stations.

Unlimited Internet - Uganda

This is an exciting collaboration for us that we believe will expand our footprint across the country & allow for our consumers to save more money with online shopping. We are starting the partnership off with 10 live OLA Energy service centres but we look forward to the opening of many more. ” says Jumia Uganda CEO Ron Kawamara.

This initiative is a part of Jumia’s strategy to reach more customers outside Kampala, where the demand for product variety and affordable product pricing is high.

ÖLA Energy Sales and Marketing Manager Julius Asaba has indicated that this partnership with Jumia will ease the ordering process for Jumia consumers and will also increase access for our customers to the OLA branded items majorly Mpishi Gas and Lubricants that are also available on the Jumia platform.

When shopping on Jumia, customers upcountry will have an option to pick their orders from the nearest Ola energy service station store during the checkout process, and the products will be dispatched to the selected office for collection.

The new Olay Energy pick up stations in the select locations will complement the already existing partner pick up stations such as Bata and Total. Consumers that opt for pick up will be able to pay cash as they pick up even with upcountry locations.
