iDROID partners with Uganda Telecom to promote the iDROID Luganda Simu

iDROID USA together with Uganda Telecom are partnering to take the world’s first Luganda smartphone, the iDROID Simu, nearer to their customers. The iDROID Simu which has become a sensation and a crowd favourite for the smart phone seeking customer was launched in December 2015.

The first of its kind in Uganda, the iDROID Simu is being positioned by Uganda Telecom as the smart phone of choice for their growing number of Luganda speaking customers. The perfectly sized 4.0 inch Multi-touch screen is operational in Luganda and English.

Its 5MP rear camera captures moments with clarity and has a standby battery time of upto 180 hours. The iDROID Simu incorporates iDROID’s latest innovative design and technology giving customers the ability to express their individuality in their mother tongue- Luganda; a language spoken and read bythe majority of people in Uganda.

Also on offer from iDROID besides the iDROID Simu is the the iDROID Hero 1. The Brand new iDROID Hero 1 offers unmatched style, performance along with enhanced features perfect for self-expressions. The iDROID and Uganda telecom customer activations were held at UTL outlets at Shoprite Lugogo and Clock Tower last week while this week iDROID and UTL will have continued activations at UTL Head office (Opposite Standard Chartered bank) starting this Wednesday.

Speaking about the partnership, UTL Brand Manager Bright Baba asserted that the activations are line with the brand’s drive to get services and products closer to their people. “We believe in giving our customers personalized services and products that suit their needs. We will continue to offer them affordable and world class brands like the idroid simu so they can comfortably make use of our network offerings” Bright said.

On his part, the iDROID USA Co-Founder Jawad Qureshi asserted that iDROID will continue to work with brands that need the best of their range of phones. “UTL has the right kind of customers that can make use of our technologically advanced range of phones. We are happy to work with them” Jawad asserted. iDROID which launched in Uganda last year continues to dominate the smart phone market with their range of phones including the iDROID V7 and the Tango 5.
