Ruhinda North County in Mitooma District MP Hon. Thomas Tayebwa has described the death of Rtd Col. Shaban Bantariza as a big loss to Ruhinda North, his ancestral home.
Hon. Thomas said Col. Bantariza was a mentor, chief advisor and his personal friend.
“This is a very, very sad day for Ruhinda North and Uganda at large after losing our son, senior and mentor to many, Col. Shaban Bantariza. Personally he was a mentor, chief advisor and personal friend. He guided me as his MP on many issues of national importance. I want to thank the UPDF fraternity and President’s Office, Media Centre Boss Ofwono Opondo, NRM Chairman’s office represented by Hon. Saleh Kamba who joined us to condole with the family at Mulago Hospital today morning. Burial arrangements will be announced later by family and government/UPDF team who are in charge of the program. In John 11:25, Jesus says, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in Me will live, even though they die.” Col. Shaban was a good Catholic, and though gone from us, I believe he is alive and well with the Lord. Rest in Peace,” Shaban Bantariza said.
