Hon. Anite tells leaders to stop dishing out money during campaigns
The Minister of State for Finance in charge of Investments who also doubles as Koboko Municipality MP Hon. Evelyn Anite has advised leaders and politicians to desist from simply dishing out cash to their constituents but rather listen to them, understand their needs & provide them with the necessary tools & skills they need as a sustainable way of helping them improve their livelihoods.
She said with this, they will providing with them long-term stability for their communities and families.
She said this on Thursday morning while having a meeting with Koboko municipality mechanics, welders & drivers association.
She donated to them generators and other work tools as a way of helping them add value to their work, provide skills training to the youth and especially increasing their household income during these COVID-19 tough times.
During the meeting, social distancing was Oberseved as well all wearing of masks.
“I appeal to all politicians and leaders to desist from simply dishing out cash to their constituents but rather listen to them, understand their needs and provide them with the necessary tools and skills they need as a sustainable way of helping them improve their livelihoods thereby providing long-term stability for their communities and families,” Hon. Evelyn Anite said.
On the same, Hon. Anite attended a women’s economic empowerment workshop with Koboko Municipality Women groups where their core discussion was about Financial literacy to help women become economically self-reliant.
“Working with BRAC Uganda, we are providing women with financial literacy and entrepreneurship training to help them utilize the funds I contributed to all their SACCOs.
This will definitely have huge ripple effects for Koboko Municipality women’s economic empowerment,” Hon. Evelyn Anite said.
