Hima Cement has constructed and handed over a four classroom block to Dura Primary School in Kamwenge District.

Officiating at the handover ceremony, Hima Cement’s Plant Manager, Vladimir Kouzmine said “Education is the key foundation of any society and through the Green Schools Project we have constructed over 30 classroom blocks such as this. We also construct sanitary facilities for students, water tanks for safe water collection and give tree seedlings to educate students on environmental protection.”

Kouzmine noted that while Hima Cement’s main business is to manufacture cement and building materials, the manufacturer takes pride in their transparent and dedicated involvement in the social fabric of the communities around their operations.

Hima Cement has made a number of social investments in the education sector, having recently handed over a dormitory to Luzinga Secondary School to accommodate 300 female students.
