Construction of Five star hotel kicks off in Jinja

Black Eagle Investment intends to erect a 140-roomed five star hotel called that will create 250 jobs in direct employment and another 500 in indirect employment. Black Eagle Investments Limited is a private firm owned by Kampala tycoon, Habib Kagimu.

Plot 1 to 9 on Bridge Street adjacent to both the Source of the Nile Agriculture and Trade Show Grounds and Jinja Golf Course has already been fenced off for development.

Sources say the hotel is called the Jinja Marriott Hotel. This is a franchise of a larger brand, The Marriott International Inc. Marriott International, Inc is an American multinational diversified hospitality company that manages and franchises a broad portfolio of hotels and related lodging facilities. Founded by J. Willard Marriott, the company is now led by his son, Executive Chairman Bill Marriott, and President and Chief Executive Officer Arne Sorenson.

Marriott International is headquartered in Bethesda, Maryland, in the Washington, DC metropolitan area It has more than 6,000 properties in 122 countries and territories around the world[4], over 1.2 million rooms (as of September 2017), and additional 195,000 rooms in the development pipeline. In 2017, Marriott was ranked #33 on Fortune’s “100 Best Companies to Work For” list, its twentieth appearance on the list.
