In Nebbi District, no male Member of Parliament has served Pasdyere County for more than two terms in a row. With the current MP Hon. Isaac Otimgiw Ismail retaining the seat earlier this year, now the question is can he make history come 2031 by winning third term. Whether you have performed well exceedingly, the Padyere voters have always kicked out every MP after two terms. If Hon. Isaac contests again in 2031 and wins, he will make history as the first ever MP to serve three consecutive terms but the question is can he make, can he break the curse!
Well, Hon. Isaac has introduced Water bowser trucks to easy lack of enough sources in the constituency and help people access water with ease. He has also brought in one Ambulance although in one sub County out of around 15. This is working to his disadvantage because other sub counties are complaining of unfairness in service delivery. It remains to be seen whether he will rectify the ambulance issue!!
Below is the list of the previous Members of Parliament who have previously attempted to break the curse but have failed. They are; Hon. Dr Salim Ahmed Bachou, Hon. Okumu Patrick Aloysius Okumu-Ringa, Hon. Ringecan David, Hon. Dr Odoch Pascal and Hon. Joshua while Hon. Isaac Otimgiw Ismail is still online to break the curse.
In the related development, No woman has served more than one term as Nebbi District Woman MP although Hon. Phiona Nyamutoro has started her first in full force but it remains to be seen if she will retain the seat in 2031. With a few months into the seat, Hon. Phiona Nyamutoro has set up Zim Zim SACCO and injected over UGX 300m for people to borrow and run their businesses smoothly at a lower interest. She has also started donating a Mattresses to each family in the district but the question remains will she break the one term go curse. She is already in the panic mode. Watch the space!!

What is interesting about this is that however good and excellent you have performed in your term, these people never give the chance again after those two respective periods.
Once Alur people get tired of you even if you have done so well for them, they vote you out. For example Okumu-Ringa gave every Village a borehole, he was kicked out seeking for a third term despite such an achievement. So the question is can water bowser trucks and mattresses and Zim Zim SACCO help Hon. Isaac Otimgiw Ismail and Hon. Phiona Nyamutoro break the curse!!!
