What you need to know about Bryan White Foundation
The founding of the Bryan White Foundation by Mr. Kirumira Brian was inspired by the need for effective mobilization of Special interest groups (SIGs) within our population for a meaningful and sustainable production of wealth. The anticipated Foundation’s first intensive operational phase is a six year program from 2018 to 2024 aimed at helping the Women, Children, Youths, People with disabilities, the elderly and the urban poor. The above SIGs will be assisted to settle and be stopped from engaging in unlawful activities such as drug abuse, prostitution, theft, human trafficking, fraud stardom (obufere) and being used by political activists to participate in riots and brutal acts, and running battles with security personnel.
The youths who currently comprise in excess of 70% of the country’s population are largely unemployed and expect to get money without engaging in production. The bigger part of the youths are resident in urban areas doing odd jobs and engaging in criminal acts.
It is therefore against the above background that special emphasis needs to be put on this segment of our population which represents the future of the country. The SIGs need to be rehabilitated. They also need to be mobilized for engagement in production thereby ensuring a better society in the future.
