Famous Comedian Daliso Chaponda Returns for a Hilarious Show in Kampala”
World-renowned comedian Daliso Chaponda is performing in Kampala on Friday, November 3, at Theatre LaBonita. The UK-based Malawian comedian is back in Uganda for the second time after his appearance at the Africa Laughs show in 2017.
You might remember him from his impressive performance on Britain’s Got Talent in 2017 or from TikTok. Chaponda will share the stage with Uganda’s best comedians, including Patrick Salvado, who is hosting the event, Ehma Napoleon, Daniel Omara, and Dr. Hillary Okello. Janzi Band and DJ Moustey will also provide music.
Chaponda expressed his excitement about returning to Uganda, saying, “It’s been 6 years since I was last here; I have always wanted to come back but things kept getting in the way.” The show is being billed as a family-friendly, one-man show and the comedy event of the year.
Salvado, a long-time friend of Chaponda, is thrilled to have him back in Kampala, as he had visited Malawi the previous year. Daniel Omara, one of the opening acts, promised the best of Uganda’s stand-up comedy, saying, “It feels like everything was a build-up to this particular event.”
