A group of people from Alur Community in Greater Nebbi (Alur land) have accused their religious and traditional leaders of not doing enough to lobby for the region to have a big share of the national cake.

Speaking to this website, they said their brothers from Acholi and Lango regions have done extremely well to fight for their sons and daughters to have a big share in the government.

In the just concluded Presidential elections, Greater Nebbi voted for the NRM with over 85% to President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. They have now appealed to the President to give share of the national cake.

The only ministers who come from the region are State (Ministers) but they want to at least see one of their sons or daughters appointed a full cabinet minister.

They have also voiced concerns in the army and police with no more than one high ranking officer from their area apart from one Major General in the UPDF.

They have also called on the president to appoint their sons and daughters as Ambassadors, Permanent Secretaries and Board Chairs.
