After the retiring of the former Internal Auditor General Ministry of Finance, Mr. Akonya Fixon Okonye, the position has remained un occupied with Mr. Hussein Isingoma as the Acting Internal Auditor General despite the interviews that were done.
The fight between Isingoma and Hellen
When Fixon retired, there was call for application from those within the ministry and others from outside.
Among those who applied were Mr. Hussein Isingoma (the current acting), Ms Hellen Jenny Owechi and many others from outisde with Hellen coming out as the best candidate but the mafias intervened and said Isingoma was the best. But one wonders if he won was is he an acting a year on, something is fishy. Sources say when Hussein Isingoma’s name was forwarded to the President he refused it and order for fresh applications and this is why Isingoma is acting not full.
The concerned have petitioned the President and Nakyobe to intervene on the matter that has dragged on for a year now.
Another fishy to deny the most highly qualified person for the job from the ministry a one Samson Sowate the chance to apply with excuses that his papers were not clear and yet they man has been moving ladders in the ministry without question.
Meanwhile Samson Sowate has a Masters in Arts in Economic Policy and Management from the prestigious Makerere University Kampala.
Meanwhile as the fight for the above job rages on, it is alleged that the three above mentioned individuals are under investigation over misconduct in their department. The allegations say they have an ongoing file at CID. Watch the space !!
