Hajjat Hanifah Karadi, Commander Nkuyege Think Tank mourns NRM pillar, Mzee Katumba

Hajjat Hanifah Karadi, the commander Nkuyege Think Tank Team has paid tribute to late Mzee Katumba Andrew saying NRM party has lost a pillar in Kawempe. In his condolence message, Hanifah said Katumba was the foundation of the party, his community and for Uganda. Below is her full condolence message;

NRM has lost a big pillar. Today we mourn Mzee Katumba Andrew, a man who stood as a foundation for the party, for his community, and for Uganda.

Mzee Katumba was not just a cadre; he was a teacher, a counselor, and a guardian of NRM ideals. He stood firm when storms came. He served with loyalty, discipline, and humility that younger generations must learn from. His wisdom was deep, his commitment to peace, unity, and socio-economic transformation was unwavering. From grassroots mobilization to national discussions, his voice carried weight because it came from a heart that loved Uganda and NRM.

As Commander of Nkuyege Think Tank, I had the privilege of knowing him and visiting him at People’s Medical Hospital. Even in pain, his spirit remained strong. He spoke of service, of building Uganda, of keeping the NRM flame alive for the next generation. That conversation will stay with me forever.

His passing leaves a painful gap in the party structures and in all our hearts. The NRM family will feel this loss for a long time. But we find comfort knowing that Mzee ran his race well. He fought the good fight, he kept the faith, and he left behind a legacy of service that cannot be forgotten.

To his dear wife, children, grandchildren, and entire family: Nkuyege Think Tank and I share deeply in your sorrow. May the Almighty Allah grant you _sabr_ and strength. May He be your comforter in this season of grief. To his comrades across NRM and all Ugandans: let us honor Mzee Katumba by living the values he stood for – loyalty to country, unity among our people, and service above self.

My prayer: _May Allah, the Most Merciful, grant Mzee Katumba Andrew Jannatul Firdaus. May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may his good deeds be a light for him in the grave. Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un.

Rest well, Mzee. The pillar may have fallen, but the house you helped build will stand because of the foundation you laid. We at Nkuyege Think Tank pledge to carry forward your vision.

Hajjat Hanifah Karadi
Commander, Nkuyege Think Tank
For God and My Country.
