Tea Nursery Bed Operator in Kayonza Seeks Presidential Pardon on 30% Deduction

Kanungu: Turyomurugendo Guard, an operator of Tea nursery bed in Kayonza, Kanungu District, has appealed to the President of Uganda for a pardon on a 30% deduction imposed on nursery bed operators. He says the deduction was enforced on them.

Guard also alleges that some members’ signatures on related documents were forged. The matter follows an investigation by the State House Anti-Corruption Unit headed by cnsl Mayombo which was ordered by President Yoweri Museveni.

According to Guard, he paid over 38 million shillings as the 30% deduction but says he has not received his own payment. He further states that he lost a plot of land to money lenders after failing to repay a loan, and threatens legal action to recover his plot of land from The management of Tea nursery bed operators.
