Kampala: Britania, Uganda’s fizzy drinks and beverage company has given a great opportunity to the people countrywide to acquire drinks with good flavor and cooperate bottle neck at a friendly discount for the last twenty five years.
Worldwide, parties and ceremonial events, Britannia drinks have been preferable. There is an old African saying that “a river that keeps flowing never loses its source.” For more than three decades, Britania Allied Industries has continued to prove the wisdom behind that proverb by consistently reinventing itself while remaining rooted in the tastes that generations of Ugandans have grown to love.

In a move that industry observers describe as both strategic and timely, Britania Allied Industries has officially unveiled Splash Kachupa, a new PET bottle variant of its flagship Splash fruit drink, while simultaneously appointing popular media personality and content creator Daniel Katende, popularly known as Kasuku, as the brand’s official ambassador.

The launch, held in Kampala, marks a significant milestone for one of Uganda’s most recognizable beverage manufacturers and signals Britania’s renewed ambition to strengthen its position in the country’s highly competitive drinks market.

For over 25 years, Splash has remained a household name in Uganda, enjoyed by school-going children, families, and young professionals alike. The introduction of Splash Kachupa represents the company’s response to changing consumer preferences, particularly the growing demand for portable, resealable, and convenient beverage packaging.
Available in both 400ml and 250ml PET bottles, Splash Kachupa comes in six flavours — Mango, Apple, Tamarind, Orange, Berries, and Grapes & Berries — offering consumers a refreshing fruit-based alternative to carbonated soft drinks.
Speaking during the launch, Victor Atwijuka, General Manager for Sales and Marketing, said the new product is designed to bridge generations while maintaining the trusted quality associated with the Splash brand.
“Splash Kachupa carries the trusted taste of Splash that Ugandans already know and love. We want it to become the first choice for consumers looking for something refreshing, familiar, affordable, and convenient,” Atwijuka said.
He explained that consumer habits across Uganda are rapidly evolving, with bottled beverages increasingly becoming the preferred option because of their portability and ability to be consumed on the move.
“Market trends show that PET-packaged beverages continue to gain popularity. Consumers want convenience, and Splash Kachupa responds directly to that demand,” he added.
The launch also reflects Britania’s confidence in Uganda’s growing consumer market. To support the rollout, the company has invested significantly in upgrading its production facilities to ensure consistent supply and quality as demand increases.
According to Ali Yousef Ebraik, Chief Executive Officer of Britania Allied Industries, Splash Kachupa represents more than just a new product.
“This is an investment in the future of the Splash brand and in Britania’s long-term growth strategy. We have carefully ensured that Splash Kachupa strengthens the Splash family while preserving the identity that has made Splash Original a favourite among Ugandans for decades,” Ebraik said.
One of the most talked-about moments of the event was the unveiling of Kasuku as the official ambassador of Splash Kachupa.
Known for his vibrant personality, massive online following, and influence within Uganda’s entertainment industry, Kasuku was described by company executives as the perfect embodiment of the brand’s youthful and energetic identity.
“Kasuku represents the spirit we want this brand to carry — relatable, authentic, connected to ordinary Ugandans, and deeply rooted in our culture. Brands grow through people, conversations, and communities, and Kasuku helps us connect with consumers in a genuine way,” Ebraik noted.
The nationwide campaign will operate under the slogan “Flavor Mu Kachupa”, with Britania planning extensive activations across supermarkets, wholesale shops, kiosks, schools, trading centres, and community events throughout the country.
Industry analysts say the launch further cements Britania’s position as one of Uganda’s leading indigenous manufacturers, contributing significantly to employment creation, industrial growth, and value addition within the food and beverage sector.
Today, Britania’s portfolio includes well-known brands such as Splash, Yojus, SunSip, TopUp, and a wide range of biscuits and food products consumed across East Africa.
As Uganda’s manufacturing sector continues to expand, the launch of Splash Kachupa demonstrates how local companies are adapting to modern consumer trends while maintaining strong national identities.
For Britania Allied Industries, Splash Kachupa is more than a beverage in a bottle.
It is a statement of innovation, confidence, and ambition.
And for millions of Ugandans seeking flavour, convenience, and quality, the message is simple: the future of refreshment has arrived — and it comes packed with “Flavor Mu Kachupa.”
