Disruptive Operations Continue as Police Intensify Crime Prevention in Kampala Metropolitan, over 200 suspects arrested

In a bid to curb crime and enhance public safety, police across the Kampala Metropolitan Area and surrounding districts have continued with coordinated disruptive operations, resulting in multiple arrests and recovery of exhibits.

Kira Division – Wakiso District
On 24th February 2026 at about 2000hrs, police conducted operations in Mulawa Trading Centre and Najjera Kamwanyi, leading to the arrest of 81 suspects.

Old Kampala Division
On 24th February 2026 between 1700hrs and 2100hrs, operations were carried out in Kisenyi Zone, Muza Zone, and surrounding areas, resulting in the arrest of 152 suspects.

Kira Road Division
On 25th February 2026, police operations in Universal Kisaasi Sector, Kamwokya, and Kyebando led to the arrest of 49 suspects.

Jinja Road Division – Nakawa
On 24th February 2026 at about 2300hrs, operations in Center Zone, Kaggo Buyinja, and Kinawataka (Nakawa Division, Kampala) resulted in the arrest of 20 suspects.

Nansana Police
On 25th February 2026 at about 0030hrs, operations in Nansana led to the arrest of 48 suspects.

Wakiso Police Division
On 24th February 2026 at about 1700hrs, operations in Wakiso Town resulted in the arrest of 23 suspects.

Bulenga Area – Wakiso
On 24th February 2026 between 1600hrs and 2000hrs, police operations in Bulenga (including Musoke Road, Kawuzi Street, Gogonya, and Kikaaya Katogo) led to the arrest of 50 suspects.

Kajjansi Police Division – Wakiso District
On 24th February 2026 at about 1700hrs, operations in Kilyamuli, Kilumba, and Namulanda Ward, Kajjansi Town Council resulted in the arrest of 6 suspects.
During the operations, police recovered exhibits of opium rolls, breaking implements and suspected house-breaking tools.

All suspects are currently in police custody. Cases of possession of opium and public nuisance have been opened. The suspects will be screened and produced before court in due course.

Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson, SP Kawala Racheal, confirmed these Operations and arrests.
