Sheilla Nduhukire reminds citizens on how to identify Government drugs being sold

Ms Sheilla Nduhukire, The Principal Public Relations Officer at National Medical Stores (NMS) was last evening hosted on Endigyito FM in Mbarara together with her colleague Mr. Rodgers Ochan, NMS’ Senior Regional Customer Care Officer for Ankole and Greater Kigezi subregion. This was part of NMS wider National Awareness Campaign on the Pilferage of Government Medicines.
The two reminded listeners that as a patient/citizen, you can easily identify government medicines because all are clearly labeled “GoU-Not for Sale.” Even the smallest tablet/vaccine vial/ampoule carries the mark “UG” and should be free of charge.

Please report any suspicious cases or culprits to the nearest police station or the State House health monitoring Unit
on 0800 200 447.

Nduhukire said that patients and stakeholders can track the delivery of medicines to health facilities by visiting dmt.nms.go.ug.

In addition, dispatch and delivery alerts are automatically sent to district and national leaders whenever consignments from NMS are dispatched and delivered to their respective facilities and districts.
