Ms Hellen Seku, a flamboyant youthful national leader, has made a significant impact in Uganda’s development agenda. As Commissioner for the National Secretariat for Patriotism Clubs (NSPC) in State House, she has been dedicated to deepening patriotism in schools, universities, and communities.
Since January 2024, when President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni elevated her from being a private secretary for youth affairs, Seku has successfully organized and empowered 200,000 Ugandans into the Uganda Patriotic Corps.
This achievement is a resounding victory for Uganda and the President, demonstrating Seku’s effectiveness as a leader. Notably, all her recruits have been addressed by the President, showcasing the administration’s commitment to patriotism and national development. Seku’s ability to mobilize and train large numbers of Ugandans has earned her recognition as a strategic achiever, particularly in promoting patriotism among the youth.


Seku’s strategy focuses on community mobilization for peace and development, creating mass visibility for the President while leaving a mark of patriotism in communities. Through her leadership, the NSPC has organized massive patriotism guidance sessions where numerous government officials are invited to address the recruits. These sessions aim to instill a sense of patriotism and national pride among the youth, encouraging them to contribute to the country’s development.
One of Seku’s notable achievements is her ability to recruit youth to focus on peace building, wealth creation, and talent development. By doing so, she has helped redirect the energy of young people away from opposition political activism and towards more constructive endeavors. This approach has not only contributed to the country’s development but also helped to reduce the influence of opposition groups.

In the presidential campaign, Seku will play a crucial role in mass mobilization for the President. As part of the presidential advanced teams, she will create mass visibility in communities through various activities such as distributing patriotism T-shirts, reflector jackets, posters and . Her rally driving will also be instrumental in generating excitement and enthusiasm among the masses especially the youth.
Seku’s strategy is not just about political mobilization but also about community mobilization for peace and development. By focusing on these core issues, she has been able to garner support from a wide range of Ugandans. Her message of hope, patriotism, peace, unity, and development resonates with many, particularly the youth.
Despite her many achievements, Seku has faced opposition from some quarters. Some individuals in government view her as a threat to their corruption tendencies and poor performance. However, Seku remains committed to her work, leading by example and demonstrating unwavering dedication to promoting patriotism and national development.
The First Lady, Janet Museveni, has recognized Seku’s achievements, describing her as a strategic achiever. Seku’s leadership style, characterized by her ability to listen and keep her office open to all, has earned her respect from the public. Her incorruptible nature has also made her a role model for many young Ugandans.
