The Ochero County in Kaberamaido District MP aspirant Hon. Calvin Atocon has refuted a rumor that he has stepped down in favor of his rival Hon. Francis Okullo who recently won the NRM party flag in the recent primary election.
Atocon was addressing journalist on Monday Afternoon to clarify his position on the rumors of him stepping down to pave way for parish mate saying they have different agenda for the people.
He said however much they come from the same parish, they have different agendas that they will present to the electorates for them to choose who has the best agenda for Ochero County.

Mr. Atocon said he can’t withdraw his candidature because he is hopeful of winning the 2026 parliamentary general election seat adding that it only strong people that they talk about.

He applauded those who have been contributing towards the development of Kaberamaido advising them to continue but leaving parliament to him since he is the only person capable.

Atocon who emerged as UPC sole candidate for Ochero County parliamentary seat ahead of 2026 polls, said parliament want a person who can speak and deliver terming it as it is a place where only fit people survive.
Three people have so far shown interest in Ochero County parliamentary seat including Francis Okullo (NRM), Julius Peter Emigu former MP (FDC) and Calvin Atocon (UPC).
