The Commissioner of Transport Regulation and Safety/ Chief Licensing Officer of Motor Vehicles in the Ministry of Works and Transport, Mr. Katushabe Winstone, has scooped the Uganda Development Champions Award and Nominated for Induction in the Uganda Development Champions Journal 2025/2026.
The prestigious honour by Uganda Development Champion Award is a recognition and a testament to his dedication to ensuring road safety in Uganda.
He has for long been dedicated to mitigate road accidents that have claimed many Ugandans. He is credited by many Ugandans for his efforts to promote, localise and ensure implementation of road safety policies and guidelines.
Basing on the above, he was nominated massively by Ugandans for induction in the Uganda Development Champions Journal 2025/2026 as Ugandans are set to celebrate 63 years of Uganda’s Independence.
The Commissioner is a dedicated professional who believes in professionalism and integrity. He believes in consultation and engaging stakeholders. He is dedicated to achieving the vision and aspirations of H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni President of the Republic of Uganda.
Mr. Katushabe Winstone will be inducted in the Uganda Development Champions Journal together with notable personalities such as Gen Salim Saleh, Rt Hon Robinah Nabbanja Prime Minister, Speaker Anita Annet Among, Secretary to Treasury Ramathan Ggoobi, State House Comptroller Jane Barekye, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, Gen Gowa Kasiita, Auditor General of Uganda, among others. President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni was the first to be honoured with the Uganda Development Champions Award at a ceremony he presided over.
Mr. Katushabe is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) and holds an MBA in Transport Economics and Logistics Management from ESAMI. He has extensive experience in overseeing safety and regulation across road, air, and rail transport, with over 8 years in the Ministry.
Recognising Mr. Katushabe with the Uganda Development Champions Award and induction in the Uganda Development Champions Journal is a testament to his unwavering dedication to attainment of Uganda Vision 2040 and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
