Police in Rubanda, Kabale district is investigating circumstances under which a 14 year- old girl was married off to a 75 year- old man. This happened on the 27/12/2017 in the home of David Benge of Isingiro village Igomanda Parish Hamurwa s/c by one Denis Tamukunzi of the same village.
Police was notified and the two have been arrested plus the Local Council 1 Chairperson, a one Shokyerera who was part of those that attended the party and others still at large.
It’s alleged that they married off the lady at UGX 1.5 m but had not gone to the man’s place.
On interrogating her, she said was willing to marry him because they have ever had carnal knowledge (sex).
The old man is charged with defilement while the two are in for procuring defilement.
