

63.8bn Tororo- Mbale Road commissioned, UNRA Boss Allen Kagina lauds work of Dott Services

H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on Friday commissioned Tororo- Mbale road at Tororo town. The construction of the 48km road was initiated in 2008 by the Dott Services and it cost the government of Uganda Shs. 63.8billion.

Allen Kagina, the Executive Director of Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) thanked and lauded the contractors Dott Services for the good work done on the road. She also thanked the president for security and promised to deliver. “We are going to transform and deliver in the road sector,”
She also cautioned the road users to avoid overloading the tracks since this would wear down the road. [adrotate banner=”3″] The president in his speech said, “We would like to industrialise Uganda by attracting more factories.”
He explained that it can only be done by investing in infrastructure; he also reminded them of the need to prioritise. “The road is a testimony of NRM work and strategy.” He added that the party order was development first and strategy second.

He promised the people of Tororo that he is going to investigate claims from them that Tororo cement is not or employing few indigenous people.
