Tumwesigye Isaac Karekyezi Jr has officially announced that he is contesting for Ibanda Municipality Member of Parliament seat come 2026.
Isaac, a born in Kabagoma, Ibanda District is a peasant farmer commonly known for cattle breeding and sports politician who can be best described as someone who navigates the political landscape within the realm of sports, often leveraging his influence to advance certain agendas, negotiate deals, and shape policies within sports organizations or governing bodies.
Isaac is son to the late Richard Karekyezi & late Ruth Mwesigye but was loved and raised by Ruth Karekyezi, an estate mogul and Presidential aid.
Isaac is adept at balancing the interests of various stakeholders, including athletes, teams, sponsors, and fans, while he also understanding the broader political dynamics at play.
His success in sports especially Uganda football and rugby having served at Association of Uganda Universities Sports and Uganda Rugby Union has enabled him start a Nyakahondogoro Berg Football Club, Berg Rugby clubs and with great effort in the Ankore Districts tournament cup a mobiliser with Ibanda district team.
