2026 Updates: This is Part XI of individuals who shown interests in contesting for 2026 Parliamentary seats
The 2026 races are gearing up each day and different people are on the ground already mobilizing for support in different constituencies. Here is another list;
Zemoyi Irene Prossy aka ZIP
She wants to contest for Namisindwa District Woman MP on NRM Party ticket. She is a teacher by profession and contested in NRM primaries in 2020, though all things didn’t go well but she is coming back to contest as Woman MP come 2026.
She is already on the ground mobilizing for support. This time she said is ready to represent the people of Namisindwa.
Mr.Chelimo Alex Patrick
He is the retired Chief Administrative Officer Moroto Local Government. He wants to contest for the Member of Parliament of Kapchorwa Municipality.
He is highly motivated, experienced and ready to serve the people of Kapchorwa Municipality. Hon. Alex is already on the ground mobilizing for support.
Lukunyu Mwelu Stephen
He is in for the MP Namisindwa Constituency in Namisindwa District come 2026 general elections.
He is a teacher by profession, Para legal trained, an Administrator training, a Peace and Conflict Resolution professional.
For sometime worked as a community inter-face consultant for various community development programmes and university Lecturer for Peace and Conflict Resolution, Public Policy Analysis and formulation, Community Development process, Strategic planning and management, Psychology, Ethics and Public management among other fields of study in the department of Social Science at Uganda Christian University (UCU) Mbale. Politically he once hotly participated in CA delegates contest, parliamentary contest in the by-election of 2003 in Bubulo East in the current Namisindwa district. He also hotly contested for LC V in Manafwa District. The track record speaks itself and this time round he is in for Namisindwa constituency in Namisindwa district. He says he has a vision for his people including making them smile like others in their beloved country Uganda. For God and my country.
Asio Marcelina
She is eyeing Kanyum County, Kumi District MP seat and says she is ready to serve. Asio is set to contest on NRM Party ticket. Her strong team is already on the ground mobilizing for support ahead of the big battle.
Mr. Wobusobozi Erasmus Majara Atwooki alias Kyahukanu (M’ukoch)
He iseyeing the Buliisa Constituency, Bullisa District MP seat in the forthcoming general elections (2026 – 2031).
Despite being not financially sound as majority people believe today for one to be able to contest, Erasmus believes that as day follows night, he must be on the ballot.
Erasmus was born on 31st/05/1991 in a small remote village called Kibambura in Ngwedo Sub county which is home to the magnificent Central Processing Facility for the Ugandan Oil and gas in Buliisa District. Erasmus sees himself as the beacon of hope and can steer Buliisa to greater heights given the ongoing oil works in Buliisa which to him seems as the bedrock of Uganda’s Economy at the moment. Erasmus holds a bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and he is a former banker at Opportunity Bank Uganda Limited and currently works as a Social Responsibility and National Content Assistant with Karmod Beta Prefabricated Company Limited Uganda in Kasinyi Buliisa.
Erasmus intends to run as an independent candidate since he wants to be true to himself and the electorates once he is given this mantle.
Ozelle Consilate
She is set to contest for the post of Woman MP Zombo District. She is already on the ground mobilizing for support.
Tingu Geoffrey
He is set to contest for Bubulo East in Namisindwa District. He is already on ground mobilizing for support ahead of the 2026 battle.
Kakaire Aminsi
He is going to contest for the post of MP Bugweri Constituency come 2026. He subscribes to the National Unity Platform (NUP).
Kyazze Ivan
He wants to contest for Buluuri Division in Nakasongola City and subscribes to the National Unity Platform (NUP) party.
The 27 year-old says “We are the future generation and is today” is our slogan.
He holds a certificate in journalism from the Institute of Social Work and Community Development Namirembe and a Grade III certificate in Education. He is currently in Rwanda right where he is exercising his duties as a professional teacher.
Morish Anyeki
He is set to contest for the upcoming MP for Oyam North Constituency in Oyam District. He says he is the only capable person who can definitely deliver services to the people of Oyam North. He is already busy doing ground work. Anyeki holds a Diploma in Travel and Tourism Management from YMCA and he is also the spokesperson for NUP in Oyam Town Council.
Ouma Patrick Onyai
“The long awaited leader” is here again in 2026 vying for Kibanda North Constituency in Kiryandongo District. He previously contested in 2021 and is still interested in contesting in 2026 for the 12th Parliament seat. His team is already on the ground mobilizing for support.
Mazelele Robin
He wants to contest for Budadiri East Constituency. He wants to make Budadiri East a better place for the people to live in. He is already on the ground mobilizing for support.
