2026 Updates: Padyere people are tired of Parombo people over fighting for leadership

The race for Padyere County MP seat in Nebbi District is heating up with voters accusing leaders from Parombo of over endless political fights and greed for power.

The race for Padyere County MP seat 2026 is going to be one of the hottest in the greater Nebbi region, we can reveal. Political analysts have dubbed it as one of the hottest in the region as incumbent Hon. Isaac Ismail Otimgiu, Hon. Joshua Anywarach and Kampala landlord Hon. Olyeko Denis Oryema dubbed young money battle it out for 12th Parliament slot.

Now the latest on our desk has it that Padyere County leadership has been dominated by leaders from Parombo in recent years and even among the three candidates, 2 are from Parombo and always in political fights.

The NRM party Chairman comes from Parombo as well as Nebbi district Chairman LC5 and the current MP for Padyere Hon. Isaac Ismail Otimgiu. The chairman entrepreneurship League also from Parombo as well as NRM treasurer and two of Nebbi’s richest guys come from Parombo. These Parombo are always fighting for leadership and that’s what the people of Padyere County want to eliminate.

The rest of county see this as unfair to them for the last 15 years and are now considering Hon. Olyeko Denis Oryema as the right choice for Padyere County come 2026.

And the majority Catholics also see this as an advantage for them to also have leadership in place and have their own as the MP for the first time in 15 years.

Hon. Olyeko Denis is seen as the right choice because he has of recent been always with them in fundraising and several other development projects. He has always been there for them ever since he announced his intentions to contest a few years ago.

Sources say Catholics in the county are holding endless meetings on Sundays to find a way to Mobilise every possible support for Hon. Olyeko.
