Kampala District Woman MP seat hopeful Hon. Zahra Luyirika has said Kampala people are yearning for change ahead of 2026 general elections. Ms Zahra Luyirika who doubles as the KCCA speaker is set to contest for Kampala District Woman MP seat and battle the incumbent Hon. Shamim Malende for the supremacy.

After interacting with people in the suburbs of Kampala, Hon. Luyirika said people are very positive about the looming wave of change, and that they are indeed yearning for a voice that will make their cries heard on the floor of parliament.

This is why she has stepped up to contest for the seat. She wants to see an effective administration which is accountable to the people in Kampala city. Hon. Zahra also wants to lobby for improved service delivery in the capital. Together with her team, Luyirika is on the ground mobilizing for support ahead of the battle. She is confident of clinching the National Unity Platform (NUP) party ticket for the contest.
