2018 Kampala City Festival announced as UBL injects UGX 270m
East Africa’s biggest street party, the Kampala City Festival is back and will be held on October 5-7, 2018. The announcement was made at City Hall by Kampala City Council Authority (KCCA) Executive Director, Jennifer Musisi.
The annual event is one of KCCA’s initiatives towards positioning Kampala city as a potential tourist destination. Last year, it’s estimated that the festival attracted over 3 million people and is this time targeting even more from across the East African region.
It will be held under the theme “Celebrating 7 years of rebuilding Kampala City”. This year the festival will once again feature a concert whose proceeds will be given to charity. Last year’s concert was headlined by Tanzania’s Diamond Platinumz.
The organisers are yet to announce the artist for this year’s concert. Guests at the launch of the festival were treated to a sumptuous breakfast and entertainment by local artist, King Saha.
Bell Lager has staked UGX270 million for this year’s Kampala City Festival. The announcement was made by Juliana Kagwa, Marketing and Innovations Director, Uganda Breweries (UBL) at City Hall.
