Zeze Kingston’s Music Journey: From Chilobwe to the World

Malawi star singer Zeze Kingston has celebrated another milestone on his music journey by launching a new record label. The launched yesterday is ‘Money Making Music’.

Today he tell us his music journey, details below;

“Growing up in Chilobwe, music was more than just a passion—it was my lifeblood. As a young artist, I was part of the music group “Daredevils” alongside my uncles, where I honed my skills as a producer and backup artist. Notable collaborations included working with esteemed artists like Piksy and Onesmus (then Armstrong).

However, I yearned for more. Taking a leap of faith, I left my job at Anglia Book Distributor to explore opportunities in South Africa. It was there that I met Jills (co-founder of Money Making Music) and together we created magic—producing the acclaimed EP “African Melodies” and hits like “Mvetsera.”

In 2020, I teamed up with my Manager Sevie Phiri, director of Serato Media, driven by our shared vision for growth. Fast-forward to 2022, I returned to Malawi for a performance, but fate had other plans.

The past years has been phenomenal. With my talent, hard work, and Serato Media’s management, we achieved remarkable success.
These accomplishments wouldn’t have been possible without God’s grace and your unwavering support.

With the same hunger for growth, I’m excited to introduce our new International Brand Manager, Mr. James Makunje. This strategic partnership aims to:
•Tap into untapped markets
– Increase our global reach
– Connect us to the world

James will accelerate our international goals and objectives, opening new doors while strengthening our existing relationships.
