Uganda records 11 new cases of COVID-19

Uganda continues to register increased cases of COVID-19 as 11 new cases are recorded.

Results from samples tested on 13 June 2020 confirm 11 new COVID-19 cases bringing total confirmed cases to 696.

The 11 cases are; 6 truck drivers 3 from Elegu while 3 are from Malaba, 1 is a frontline health worker and 4 cases are among contacts and alerts from Buikwe, Lira, Adjumani and Amuru districts.

In related development, 33 foreign truck drivers tested positive for COVID-19 and were handed back to their country of origin

Total Recoveries: 240

Samples from Points of Entry tested today: 1,564

Samples from alerts and contacts: 1,385

Total samples tested yesterday are 2,949

Meanwhile Jubilations and ululations as Lira Regional Referral Hospital discharged all the 20 patients who were positive for COVID-19. They were successfully treated and have since tested negative twice for COVID-19. The discharge was overseen by Hon. Moriku Joyce, Minister of State for Health in charge of Primary Health Care.
