

Thomas Tayebwa tells celebrants at Uganda Martyrs Day that Parliament will protect marriages
The Deputy Speaker of Parliament Hon. Thomas Tayebwa together with his wife Rukundo Tayebwa joined thousands of Christians at the Anglican Shrine Namugongo in celebrating the Martyrs Day.


While attending the event, the Deputy Speaker reiterated Parliament’s stand on protecting marriage in line with our religious and traditional foundation.


“I thank the guest preacher of the day, Retired Bishop of Kenya, Dr. Samson Mwaluda, for the wonderful message in which he called upon us to remain committed in faith and learn from the suffering of the Uganda martyrs. May the Uganda Martyrs intercede for us all,” Rt Hon. Thomas Tayebwa said.


On the event, the Deputy Speaker saluted the members of the press for a wonderful coverage of the Uganda Martyrs Day celebrations.


“For our Media and security forces, i cannot thank you enough for the sacrifices that you made regarding securing and coverage of this event. Our martyrs must be proud of you both from above,” Rt Hon.Thomas Tayebwa said.
