    Katakwi General Hospital receives Digital Mobile X-Ray

    The Minister or State for ICT and National Guidance Hon. Peter Ogwang has today commissioned Digital Mobile X-Ray at Katakwi General Hospital.

    Hon. Peter Ogwang who also doubles as the MP for Usuk County in Katakwi district said he was honoured to represent the Minister of Health Hon. Jane Ruth Aceng at the commissioning and handover of a digital mobile X-ray equipment for TB screening and diagnosis at Katakwi General Hospital.

    This advanced X-ray equipment and the use of Gene-Xpert for TB diagnosis will make Katakwi Hospital a high level in terms of identification of people with TB disease. It will also be beneficial in identification of those eligible for prevention therapy.

    This Delft Light backpack X-ray equipment uses artificial intelligence to identify individuals that are likely to have tuberculosis in a short time.

    “Indeed, I was able to be screened for TB and got the results in one minute. I want to assure you that Govt is committed to ending TB by 2030,” Hon. Peter Ogwang said.

    The Minister of State for ICT and National Guidance who also doubles as the MP for Usuk County Katakwi District Hon. Peter Ogwang has donated 5 tonnes of rice to Katakwi District COVID-19 Taskforce. The minister said the donation will go to patients in Health centres in the district.

    “I have donated 5 tonnes of rice worth Shs20m to Katakwi District COVID-19 Taskforce which will go to patients in health centres. The Taskforce also handed me an acknowledgement receipt of the Shs20m deposit. #StayHomeStaySafe,” Hon. Peter said.


    The minister had earlier in the week respected the Court ruling, handed over Shs20m to the Katakwi District COVID-19 Taskforce to be used in pandemic fight.

    ICT Ministry, NITA Uganda partner with Works Ministry, Uganda Police Force over COVID-19 stickers

    In order to crack down on motorists with fake car stickers in the wake of COVID-19 global pandemic, the Ministry of ICT and National Guidance and NITA Uganda have developed a portal to help Ministry of Works and Transport and Uganda Police Force to verify these stickers instantly.

    If any found with a fake sticker, he or she will be charged with forgery and attempting to spread a contagious disease.

    The Minister of State for ICT and National Guidance Hon. Peter Ogwang told www.showbizuganda.com that the stickers can be verified instantly through this new development and warned against fake stickers.

    The minister of State for ICT and National Guidance who also doubles as the MP for Usuk County in Katakwi District Hon. Peter Ogwang has advised people to exercise regularly so as to boost their immunity. He said this can help in fight against COVID-19 caused by Coronavirus.

    “Yesterday, I jogged from Najjera to Namboole and was impressed to find people along the bypass exercising. Let’s use this time to exercise regularly in order to boost our immunity in the fight against COVID-19. Do it from home, but if you can’t then wear a face mask,” Hon. Peter Ogwang said.

    The Minister of State for ICT and National Guidance who also doubles as the MP for Usuk County in Katakwi District Hon. Peter Ogwang has said Bunyangabu LC5 chairman did not only attack the RDC but also the President of Uganda.

    The LC5 chairperson for Bunyangabu District, James Ategeka Mugarama on Tuesday morning beat up Jane Asiimwe, the Resident District Commissioner (RDC) for reportedly grounding the government car which is allocated to his office.

    “This is very disgraceful of the LCV. Violence is not what we need now, but cooperation. The Law will certainly take its course. This is not just an attack on the RDC but an attack on the President,” Hon. Peter Ogwang said.

    The Minister of ICT and National Guidance Hon. Peter Ogwang has said the government communications officers will together on the public information about Coronavirus (COVID-19) global pandemic.

    This was after the meeting between the Government Communications Officers and the ICT & National Guidance Minister Hon. Judith Nabakooza and her deputy Hon. Peter Ogwang.

    “Yesterday, we chaired a meeting of all communication officers from Gov’t Security Agencies on how to manage public information on COVID-19.
    This Interagency Taskforce will soon brief the media on their various roles,” Hon. Peter Ogwang tweeted.

    Gov’t Communications Officers to be hosted in Kyankwanzi

    The Ministry of ICT and National Guidance heads today met with the Government Communications Officers at the ministry and discussed importance issues especially on how to effectively disseminate government information.

    The State Minister for ICT and National Guidance Hon. Peter Ogwang said his Ministry agreed to host them in Kyankwanzi for at least one month to reflect on their performances.
    They will also discuss on how to effectively excute government programs.

    “This morning, we met government communications officers and agreed to host all of them in Kyankwanzi for at least one month to reflect on their performance and build synergies on how to effectively communicate government programs,” Hon. Peter Ogwang tweeted.

    Usuk County in Katakwi District MP who also doubles as the state minister for ICT and National Guidance Hon. Peter Ogwang continues to engage and encourage youth into working.


    A few days ago, he injected UGX 3m into YY Boys, a youth group in Ngariam, Usuk.

    “Solving youth problems in the most indigenous and youthful way. This youth group (YY Boys) in Ngariam, Usuk started a SACCO where they are saving to buy produce for sale. I supported them with Shs3m. I will continue to monitor its progress and support them,” Hon. Peter Ogwang said.


    The MP also confirmed that he is seeking for re-election as the area MP come 2021. He is once again standing on the NRM ticket.

    The Minister of State for ICT and National Guidance who also doubles as the MP for Usuk County in Katakwi District Hon. Peter Ogwang has today updated his Yellow membership in his constituency.

    Hon. Peter Ogwang confirmed to us that his National Resistance Movement (NRM) membership is now up to-date.

    He called on all NRM members countrywide to register and get their NRM cards.

    “I have this morning updated my NRM membership in my polling station in Katakwi. The process to get #EndagaYellow is going on smoothly and I urge members to go register to enable them participate in the forthcoming NRM Primaries,” Hon. Peter Ogwang posted.

    Katakwi Women benefit from Peter Ogwang’s goat project

    The MP for Usuk County in Katakwi District who also doubles as the State Minister for ICT Hon. Peter Ogwang has revealed that 300 women have so far benefited from his goat project in Katakwi district.

    He went to reveal that he will be distributing 1000 goats to more groups in the district.

    “A day in the farm. So far, over 300 goats have been given out to benefit more than 30 women groups in Katakwi. Late this month, I will be distributing 1000 goats to more women groups. This project is a personal initiative meant to empower households to create wealth,” Hon. Peter said.

    In related development, students of Katakwi Technical School are set receive computers this week. The minister said this is part of digitalising Uganda.
