    The State Minister for Economic Monitoring in the President’s Office Hon Peter Ogwang has intensified Government project monitoring in Wakiso District.
    The minister said there is need for an engineering audit on most of the health & education projects in the District.
    He added that indeed, service delivery requires such a multi-sectoral approach.

    “Had quite a long day combing areas of Namayumba, Masulita & Kakiri Trading Centre in Wakiso District monitoring government projects. We need an engineering audit on most of the health & education projects in the District. And indeed, service delivery requires such a multi-sectoral approach,” Hon Peter Ogwang tweeted.

    The Minister of State for Economic Monitoring in President’s Office Hon Peter Ogwang has been praised for his role in benefiting communities in Pallisa district.
    It is said that during his two hour tour in the district on 18 February instructed the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) to have boreholes drilled in communities in Pallisa district.

    “Communities in Pallisa have benefited from Peter Ogwang the minister of state for economic monitoring’s two hour tour in the district on 18/02/2022 last the borehole expedited drilling is attributed to his instructions to CAO”.

    Peter Ogwang tells LC V chairpersons to be whistle-blowers

    The Minister of State for Economic Monitoring in President’s Office Hon Peter Ogwang has called on LC V chairpersons to be whistle-blowers of wrong doers.
     
    While addressing the chairpersons on how to enhance service delivery, the minister told them to not only provide political leadership but take a close watch on wrongdoings.
     
    He was joined by Local Government Minister Hon. Raphael Magyezi who also addressed the gathering on how to enhance service delivery in their communities.

     

    “Joined the Minister of Local Gov’t Hon Raphael Magyezi to address District Chairpersons all over the country on how to enhance service delivery. LCV Chairpersons are not only supposed to provide political leadership, but also be the first whistle-blowers of any wrongdoings,” Hon. Peter Ogwang tweeted.

    The Minister of State for Economic Monitoring in the President’s Office Hon. Peter Ogwang has hailed The Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) for the good job they are doing of protecting property and lives of Ugandans especially in Katakwi District. 
    The Minister said this while pitching camp in Palam Sub County in Katakwi with UPDF soldiers to wipe out cattle thefts.
    He praised the security forces for doing a great job in keeping the area secure and free from thefts.
    “I have pitched camp in Palam Sub County, Katakwi District with UPDF soldiers to wipe out cattle thefts from our neighboring uncles. The security forces are doing a commendable job in as far as protection of property and lives is concerned,” Hon. Peter Ogwang said.

    This was in Tororo yesterday. The two ministers want to see continued collective push for total Socio-economic transformation especially of rural farming and trading communities.
    Such activities are part of government’s continued agenda to see the country become a middle income status in the next few years.

    The Minister of State in charge of Economic Monitoring in President’s Office Hon Peter Ogwang has wowed investors to come and invest in Uganda. 
    The Minister while addressing the press at the Uganda Media Centre on 36th NRM/A victory day anniversary to be held on Wednesday 26th 2022 said the country is now very secure for any kind of investment.
    ” I call upon all those who wish to invest here, whether from Asia, US, Europe, Asia and any other part of the world, come and invest here. The environment is friendly and secure for any kind of investment,” Hon. Peter Ogwang said.
    Meanwhile in related development, Hon. Peter Ogwang today presented a paper on Service delivery in Local Governments to all CAOs & Town Clerks.
    He said some CAOs have become mere paymasters; they sit in office and sign certificates of payment for projects without establishing their existence or satisfactory completion. The minister it’s a recipe to shoddy works.
    He said there is need to double effort in local governments for service delivery to be perfect.

    Peter Ogwang, UIPE, ERBU agree to work together & offer quality services

    The Minister of State, Office of the President in charge of Economic Monitoring, Hon. Peter Ogwang has met with Uganda Institution of Professional Engineers (UIPE) and Engineers Registration Board Uganda and agreed to work together.

     

    The Minister who also doubles as the MP for Ngariam County in Katakwi District said his meeting with the two bodies was a fruitful one.

    He said they have harmoniously agreed on a number of resolutions regarding quality service delivery and addressed some of the bottlenecks.

    Top performing government officials so far revealed

    It’s almost coming to a year since President Yoweri Museveni appointed new government officials after he was re-elected again as the president of Uganda in February last year.

    As we finish the year of the 5-year NRM term, we take a look at who have been the top performing government officials.

    Hon. Thomas Tayebwa is the Government Chief and Member of Parliament (MP) for Ruhinda North County in Mitooma District. From government to constituency work, Hon. Thomas Tayebwa is always available to perform. He is also among the most active government official on social media and is always updating the public about ongoing government programs. On his constituency, he is always checking and supervising the ongoing projects. He is very instrumental in pushing the government’s development agenda wherever he is.

    The Minister of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries who also doubles as the MP for Kibale East County in Kamwenge district Hon. He always shares with the public what is happening in the government and his constituency. Whether it is under his docket or not, he always updates the public through his social media platforms. He is always active and available whenever he is called upon. Hon. Ogwang is also a regular regarding his constituency work and is one of the most active MPs in Eastern Region.

    The Minister of Health has always worked her heart out regarding government services. She doubles as the Woman MP for Lira District. Jane has also been instrumental in the battle against COVID-19 pandemic in the country. Her district Lira has benefited in her tireless work regarding service delivery.

    The Minister of State for Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities who also doubles as the MP for Ntoroko County has been very instrumental in promoting tourism. He has recent become a very active social media user and is not just seated in office.

    Having bounced back to parliament, Maj Gen. (RTD) Jim Muhwezi was appointed Minister for National Security. Although there have been cases of insecurity regarding bomb blasts, the minister acted quickly and the situation has stabilized. With him also back to parliament, Rujumbura County in Rukungiri district is back to map. He has already been instrumental in a number of projects in his constituency. He surely is the right person to stabilize developmental projects in Rujumbura.

    Dott Services Ltd kicks off UGX 71bn Acomai Irrigation scheme, promises excellent work

    Uganda’s leading local construction firm, Dott Services Limited, has promised to deliver excellent work at Acomai Irrigation scheme in Bukedea district.
    This was said by Dott Services Chairman & CEO Mr. Venugopla Rao during the official ground-breaking ceremony of the Shs71billion Acomai irrigation scheme in Kamutur Sub-county in Bukedea District, where the Deputy Speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon. Anita Among was the chief guest.

    Venu as he popularly referred added that Dott Services Ltd is among the few indigenous companies in the country, with the demonstrable capacity and proven record of accomplishments to the satisfaction of every client.
    “I want to thank the Government of Uganda for trusting us with this contract and as our mission goes, ‘To provide excellent Construction services to the satisfaction of our Client and all Stakeholders, while ensuring quality safety standards; structuring our capacity to serve, and create opportunities.’, I can confidently promise quality work to be delivered within the agreed time,” Venugopla Rao.
    While flagging off the project, the Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Hon. Anita Among, applauded the contractor for not disappointing government on the previous projects.
    Among however also tasked Dott Services, to make sure that the project is completed on time and further requested them to construct a technical school in Kamutur as part of their corporate social responsibility. The contractor welcomed the proposal and promised to have the school built within six months to the delight of the community.
    The project, which is under the Agricultural Value Chain Development Programme being implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries, is also expected to be constructed in Bulambuli District. It aims at improving access to water for agricultural production, thus increasing agricultural productivity, improve post-harvest handling, agro-processing and value addition and market access among others.
    While officiating at the groundbreaking event on Saturday, 18 December 2021, the Deputy Speaker, who is also the Woman MP for Bukedea District was enthralled that the irrigation scheme that was once a dream is now a reality. She tasked the Ministry of Agriculture to closely monitor its implementation to ensure that the multibillion project is not mismanaged.
    “I am glad that the dream that started in 2016 has finally come to reality. My people here know how long this journey has been and how much we need this project,” Among said.
    “I don’t want you [the Ministry of Agriculture] to leave this baby in the hands of people who will mismanage it. On behalf of the people of Bukedea, I am interested in the success of this project and I will therefore monitor it myself,” Among said.
    Among’s urgent need for a technical school is premised on the several school dropouts as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. She advised parents to take parenting very seriously as government plans to reopen schools in January 2022.
    “Covid-19 has affected our children; some of them got pregnant and they are now suffering from stigma, so it’s our responsibility to counsel our children. We also need to ensure that they are fully vaccinated before returning to schools,” she said.
    The Minister of Agriculture, Frank Tumwebaze, pledged to speed up the compensation process to ensure timely implementation of the project, saying government has earmarked Shs1bn for project affected persons.
    State Minister for Economic Monitoring, Peter Ogwang, tasked the contractor, to share the Projects’ Bills of Quantities with the District for proper accountability and transparency during the implementation process.
    The proposed irrigation schemes in Bukedea and Bulambuli will cover a whopping 2,200 hectares of land and will come with additional infrastructure such as administration block, two drying yards, warehouse, workshop, bridge and 58kms of access roads.
