    Kira Municipality Member of Parliament hopeful Jimmy Lukwago aka Kira Young has continued to mobilize for National Unity Platform (NUP) members registration in Kira Municipality.

    Jimmy Lukwago who is set to contest for the Kira Municipality Member of Parliament seat in 2026 spent the whole of Wednesday moving around Kira Municipality supervising the party Membership registration.

    He interacted with the new party members and area leaders in the areas of Kasokoso and Kiganda and reaffirmed to them the party core values and their mission to take power.

    The Minister for Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries has said that he pity people like Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine for such world view.
    Reacting to a tweet by Bobi Wine, the President of NUP talking about tribalism in the NRM Government, Hon. Frank Tumwebaze said people like him who thinking of heading this country should not view things like that.

    Former Attorney General and retired Supreme Court Judge George Kanyeihamba has visited the family of National Unity Platform (NUP) leader and former Presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine.

    The family said it was a great honour to have lunch with the retired judge.

    “It was a great honor for our household to host Prof. Dr. G. W. Kanyeihamba and share lunch with him. On his way to our house, he carried with him very beautiful, meaningful gifts for us. Bobi bought copies of his new book “CHALLENGING A PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION” which he is meant to distribute among the NUP newly elected members of Parliament. He gave me a copy of my own which I read that very night. When I told professor that I had been studying his literature for two years now, he was quick to ask why I had so much interest in his works. I told him of how I was pursuing my MA in human rights and In his own words he said… “I am the master of human rights! Make sure you ask me any questions you have about that subject.” Prof. Kanyeihamba has an admirable, sharp memory! Moments with him have severally been beautiful! He is a resource that those who would love to expound their knowledge on rule of law should tap into,” Barbie Kyagulanyi posted.

    Bobi Wine cash lands NGO boss in a fix

    Regional Coordinator, Care For Aids Uganda, Ronald Tusiime is in trouble after it emerged that he diverted the National Organisational Funds to support the activities of National Unity Platform (NUP) activities.

    Together with some of his workmates, he is being probed for his sins. And this website understands that out of guilt, he even no longer surfaces at his place of work.

    Tusiime until recently was a very resourceful, committed, focused staff at Care For AIDS Uganda.

    In the emails that this website has seen, he is tasked to refund the NGO funds that he spent during the campaigns of some individuals within the opposition political party that is headed by Robert Kyagulanyi. Although he showed some signs to refund the money after selling his properties, he was not pardoned and this has rendered him restless. Being a former refugee in Norway, he is being held culpable as an individual for his acts.


    Having been alerted that he is on the hunted list for security, he has become very elusive and is in a state of hibernation. He has reportedly shunned the company emails and has since switched off his telephone lines.

    He is well experienced in provision of general clinical care and public health care programming, quality improvement at regional and national level both in research and service delivery in areas of infectious diseases especially Malaria, Tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS.
    Before his woes as a Regional Coordinator based in he was tasked with a role of overseeing the operation of three centers in the CARE for AIDS Uganda expansion.

    He was drawn to CARE for AIDS because of his passion for touching the lives of those affected by HIV. He loves getting to explain the CARE for AIDS program, and interacting with church leaders as to how they can partner to create lasting change in their communities.

    His actions have come after the President’s recent reaction in which he directed the immediate suspension of the activities of the Democratic Governance Facility (DGF), the largest pool of donor funding to non-governmental organisations in Uganda over what has been termed as financing of subversive activities.

    In a January, 2, 2021 letter, Museveni says he needs answers as to why and how the Ministry of Finance authorized a £100 million (Shs500.8 billion) fund to operate in the country without the involvement of the cabinet.

    The furious president revealed in the letter that he has learnt that a big percentage of the Shs500.8 billion went into financing activities and organizations meant to subvert government “in the name of improving governance”.

    Security forces accuse Bobi Wine, journalists of holding unlawful procession

    Police and UPDF on Wednesday accused National Unity Platform (NUP) president Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine of holding unlawful procession as they justified attack on journalists who were covering the former presidential candidate as he delivered his petition to the United Nation Human Rights offices in Kampala.

    At least 10 journalists were left nursing injuries after military personnel attached to the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) assaulted them while covering Mr Kyagulanyi who was accompanied by relatives of Ugandans who have been abducted by security operatives during and after elections.


    The injured journalists include John Cliff Wamala, Geoffrey Twesigye and Irene Abalo of Nation Media Group, Shamim Nabakooza of Record TV, Henry Ssekanjako, Timothy Murungi of New Vision, Rashida Nakaayi of Galaxy FM, Josephine Namakumbi, Joseph Sabiti and Thomas Kitimbo of NBS TV.

    “Today we went to the UN Human Rights office in Kampala to deliver a petition against the continuing abductions, torture and murder of our supporters. The military was waiting. Right outside the gate of the UN office, they attacked and beat up journalists and elected leaders! In a very contemptuous manner, they descended on everyone they could land on and beat them without mercy. They smashed windscreens of the vehicles we went with. Several colleagues were rushed to hospital. Museveni will certainly not force us into submission,” Mr Kyagulanyi tweeted.

    However, Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson, Mr Patrick Onyango said they have opened an inquiry at Jinja Road Divisional Headquarters in Kampala to establish the circumstances under which journalists and other citizens were battered by military police an left nursing injuries.

    Mr Onyango further said Mr Kyagulanyi who was reportedly scheduled to appear with three other NUP officials due to the Covid-19 protocols allegedly disregarded the guidelines and held an illegal procession and assembly involving boda bodas, motor vehicles and supporters walking on foot.
    “Although we respect the rights of citizens to freely assemble and express themselves, the health and safety of all Ugandans and visitors, and rule of law remains our top priority. As a reminder, all unlawful rallies, assemblies and processions are still restricted under the health protocols in place. Therefore, due to the acts of overcrowding at the security perimeters near the UN offices, there was a great potential of breaching the security perimeter, which led to additional reinforcement that helped disperse the uncontrolled crowds,” Mr Onyango said.

    “Unfortunately, a few people sustained injuries including journalists. We have opened an inquiry at Jinja Road Divisional Headquarters, to establish the circumstances under which the victims were injured. The findings will inform management on the next course of action,” he added.

    The UPDF spokesperson, Brig Gen Flavia Byekwaso said the group assaulted one of the security personnel at the cutoff point and that required they be pushed back forcefully.

    “The procession with boda boda riders waited to force its way through carrying among them the non-identifiable journalists. Therefore, it is not correct to allege that journalists were targeted,” she tweeted.

    National Unity Platform (NUP) Robert  Ssentamu Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine has today celebrated 39th birthday with a mass at his home in Magere.


    Hundreds of his supporters, religious and political leaders joined the the former presidential candidate who is current in court challenging the outcome of February elections.


    It was a day to celebrate for him.


    “Dear friends,
    I am so humbled by the outpouring of love on this, my birthday.
    On a day like this in 1982 when my parents were dealing with the consequences of a stolen election, when a war was going on in many parts of Buganda, I was born. Growing up to this age is another long story, but am thankful that I have been able to get here.
    It’s been a life full of ups and downs, but most importantly, a life full of lessons. As I approach the fourth flow, I get it even clearer that the best way to live, is to live with the truth in your heart.
    My deepest appreciation goes to all of you friends and family who joined us in mass today as we prayed for our comrades who are in prison for no reason, all those who are kidnapped and still missing and those who have been victims of state inspired violence, abductions and murder.
    I dedicate the next phase of my life to fighting and ending such injustice. Aluta continua,” Bobi Wine posted on his social media pages.

    The Electoral Commission today the 15th December, 2020 met Presidential Candidate Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu and Senior National Unity Platform (NUP) party officials over continued failure and/or refusal in complying with the Electoral Commission’s Guidelines for Conduct of Campaign Meetings and observance of the COVID-19 Standard Operating Procedures in the electoral environment, thus putting the lives of the citizens at the risk of contracting the virus and resulting into unwarranted confrontations with Security Personnel.

    This was a follow up meeting to the one adjourned on the 14th December, 2020, because the Electoral Commission insisted on and required the personal attendance of Candidate Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu

    In the meeting, Candidate Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu complained that his campaigns had been disrupted by the Security personnel who also blocked his radio programs, re-routed their movements, occasioned delays in reaching campaign venues and denied him accommodation in areas where they are scheduled to hold campaign meetings.


    They further asserted that implementation of the campaign guidelines should apply equally to all candidates.

    The Commission informed the candidate that in response to his concerns raised in earlier meetings and written complaints lodged with the Commission by the NUP party, the Electoral Commission had written to Uganda Police; and a response from the Police had been received.

    The Commission will in the shortest period of time arrange for a meeting with the leadership of the Uganda Police Force, the political parties sponsoring presidential candidates as well as Independent Presidential candidates, with the view of resolving any outstanding issues concerning their campaign activities.

    The Commission, however, clarified to the Candidate, going forward, that he and all other candidates were expected to follow the election guidelines and respect the COVID-19 Standard Operating Procedures, failure of which the Commission would take action to ensure observance of the law.

    Africa’s first Economic War and Black Wall Street (BWS) leader Charles N. Lambert has said Nigerians dream of their nation to be like Uganda.

    In the wake of charging of Nigerian singers Omah and Tems, Lambert said Bobi Wine is embarrassing Uganda in Nigerian media. He said if anyone comes into another country and the breaks the rules, they should face the law.

    The outspoken Lambert criticised the technics used by the Presidential candidate Bobi to decampaign Uganda as a country while he should be promoting and selling her to the rest of the world if he wished Uganda and Ugandans well.

    The Nigerian Punch online website has noted that Bobi Wine posted “There is no rule of law in Uganda. This country runs on orders from a small circle of oppressors who dispense orders that are implemented without question. There’s absolutely no reason why our brothers should still be detained yet their concert was under police watch #FreeOmahLay,” something Lambert and Ugandans have disputed.


    The economic war boss in his statement notes that for a presidential candidate to talk about his country in this manner to other states is selling it out and cutting ties therefore not a good leader who wishes the best for his country.

    “This guy is desperate. If you are Nigerian and come to Uganda and misbehave, you follow law due process.

    If Uganda is as lawless as he claims and ‘Organized Orders’ is not suitable for Africa, he should go live in Nigeria with it’s current system for only few months.

    Uganda is the only country in Africa that Okada ( boda boda )sleeps on his bike and you can wake him at 2am and he takes you anywhere. Safer than the US, only comparable to the Scandinavian in security.

    If Uganda can be anything like Nigeria, I will be the first one to run away from here. Our vision is to make Nigeria like Uganda. Africa First,” Charles N. Lambert said.

    EC Set to Start Verification of Supporters for Nomination of Presidential Candidates

    The Electoral Commission (EC) Uganda has set up a team to handle the verification of supporters for nomination of candidates for the 2021 Presidential Elections. The verification team will start its work today Monday 28th September 2020.

    Section 10(b) of the Presidential Elections Act provides that a Presidential candidate’s nomination shall be supported by not less than one hundred (100) persons who are registered voters, from not less than ninety-eight (98) districts, which form two thirds (2/3) of all the districts of Uganda.

    President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is set to seek for another term in office as NRM flag bearer

    As at 25th September 2020, at least eighty-two 82 aspirants had collected nomination forms and supporter forms.

    They include five political parties, namely, Alliance for National Transformation (ANT), Ecological Party Uganda (EPU), National Resistance Movement (NRM), National Unity Platform (NUP) and Revolutionary People’s Party (RPP).

    The seventy-seven aspiring independent candidates include (9) female aspirants, namely, Amaro Faith, Amolo Pamela, Kabarungi Grace Juliana, Kalembe Nancy Linda, Kataha Janet Komugisha, Katushemererwe Brenda, Kyalya Maureen, Lugudde Katwe Elizabeth and Mirembe Phiona.

    Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine is set to seek for the big seat as National Unity Platform (NUP) flag bearer

    Due to the sizeable number of signatures required for nomination as a Presidential candidate, the Commission has advised aspiring candidates to submit the lists of supporters to the Electoral Commission for verification at least two weeks before the nomination dates, that is, at least by 16th October 2020.

    Presidential aspirants have been further advised to collect more than 100 signatures from each district/cities, to cater for shortfalls.

    Mugisha Muntu is contesting as The Alliance for National Transformation (ANT) flag bearer

    Presidential aspirants who attain verified supporters from at least 98 Districts/Cities shall be issued with a Certificate which they will present to the Returning Officer on nomination day.

    The aspiring candidates have also been advised to book time in advance on any of the gazetted dates, that is, Monday 2nd and Tuesday 3rd November 2020, in order to ensure a smooth nomination exercise.
