Surprise Guest TID Takes Oktoberfest Crowd on a Nostalgic Journey

The annual Oktoberfest event took place last Saturday evening at Cricket Oval, featuring a lineup of notable performers, but it was a surprise appearance by Tanzanian veteran artiste TID that left the crowd reminiscing.

TID, a chart-topper in the early 2000s known for hits like “Nyota Yako,” “Zeze,” and “Siamini,” made a special appearance in Uganda alongside Jose Chameleone. He not only attended but also graced the stage with two songs, including his famous “Siamini.” Despite Chameleone introducing him as a legendary artist, many in the audience seemed unfamiliar with TID’s music.

Jose Chameleone, one of the main performers of the night, delivered an energetic performance, featuring songs like “Kuma Obwesigwa,” “Wale Wale,” “Forever,” “Baliwa,” and “Valu Valu,” among others.

Cinderella Sanyu, the final act of the evening, captivated the audience with her dynamic performance. She engaged the crowd, dancing alongside her talented dancers, who mirrored her every move. Her song choices, including “Boom Party,” “Still Standing,” “Ndi Mukodo,” and “Copy Cat,” were met with enthusiastic approval.

Despite a relatively low turnout earlier in the evening, the audience remained in high spirits throughout, enjoying the DJ’s mixes during artist intervals and savoring the unexpected surprises the Oktoberfest event had to offer.
