Sheraton Kampala Hotel boosts Kabaka Coronation Golf Tournament
The Sheraton Kampala Hotel has announced that it will sponsor The Kabaka Coronation Golf Tournament for a third time following the success of the two-year partnership showcased to mark the 26th Coronation anniversary of Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II.
Sheraton’s sponsorship is set to include trophies, a huge coronation cake and hospitality spaces on the course throughout the one-day golf tournament.
Taking place at the Kitante Golf Club in Kampala on July 20, spectators and golfers will have the opportunity to interact with Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga (Buganda’s Prime Minister) and Prime minister of Uganda Dr Ruhakana Rugunda, both expected to honour the tournament.
Sheraton’s Business Unit Manager, Mr Ssekitoleko David, said: “Continuing our partnership with the Kabaka Coronation Golf Tournament made perfect sense. We enjoyed a very successful two years and we’re delighted to be returning again to join the Kingdom fight sickle cell anaemia through sports.”
Buganda Golf Association captain Sam Mubiru, who is also head of the organising committee said: “It’s fantastic to have Sheraton Kampala Hotel, Pepsi and Old Mutual alongside Majestic Brands back as our sponsors. The Stable ford tournament once again joins the mainstream celebrations of the event and the proceedings will be given to the cause of fighting sickle cell disease.”
The Kabaka will celebrate his 26th coronation on 31st July 2019 at the Nkumba University main campus in Entebbe.
