It was a day when Ugandans came together for a common cause and they surely did it. The Car Wash Fundraiser held at Panamera Bar yesterday raised Shs53.7m as part of Save Carol campaign.

Carol Atuhirwe is battling throat and lung cancers and she needs Shs 270m to fly to Ohio, United States of America for an operation.

Thousands of Ugandans joined hands at Panamera as they paraded their cars for washing at a cost of 50,000 each. Over 400 cars were washed. Former presidential candidates Kizza Besigye of FDC and Abed Bwanika were in attendance. Also in attendance was Mike Mukula who represented the yellow party.


Bobi Wine, Sheebah Karungi, Nince Henry, Pallaso, Coco Finger, Winnie Nwagi, Leila Kayondo, Helen Lukoma, Kim Swagga to mention but a few were some of the celebrities who attended the fundraiser.

Tycoon Sulaiman Kabangala Mbuga popularly known as SK Mbuga pledged to carter for return air tickets for Carol and all her caretakers plus expenses whereas in the US.


The tycoon was the biggest contributor in the car wash after he came with his 8 posh cars all to be washed at the do.

Carol Atuhirwe made it to the venue briefly as she was just driven around for a few minutes as she put on her trademark smile to the crowd. However, you are urged to continue spreading the word because more money is still needed. Thank you
