Rema, Kenzo to fire up the Chinese Dragon Boat Festival
The Dragon Boat Festival is set entertain Uganda Wildlife Education Centre this Sunday 28th May 2017. Uganda’s Vice President H.E Edward Ssekandi and the Chinese Ambassador will be among the VIPS at the Sunday festival.
The Dragon Boat Festival Uganda is organized by the China Africa Friendship Association in proud association with the Office of the Vice President, the Ministry of Tourisim , The Chinese Embassy in Uganda and the Finance Trust bank.
The event, first of its kind on the African continent was launched with a pre event rehearsal that took place last Sunday in Entebbe.
Golola Moses was the star attraction at the launch with his rowing skills and he promised more at the real event next Sunday 28th May.
The festival, one of the most popular Chinese water sport and cultural events dating back hundreds of years, was also launched at Arirang Restaurant in Kampala. Schedule to take place on May 28, 2017 at Uganda Wildlife Education Centre (UWEC) in Entebbe.
The event will host a number of professional and social participants, which will see the winner walk away with the prized Dragon trophy.
According to Uganda’s Minister of Tourism Prof Ephraim Kamuntu, the Dragon boat festival will be added on the tourism annual calendar, and be used to attract Chinese tourists to Uganda.
