Pulse Kenya Announces the Third Edition of Pulse Influencer Awards
Nairobi: Pulse Kenya, a prominent media company and a part of Africa’s leading innovative media brand, Pulse, is thrilled to announce the much-anticipated return of the Pulse Influencer Awards for its third consecutive year.
Under the theme “The Golden Era – Bold & Elegant,” this prestigious event is scheduled to take place on October 7, 2023. Online voting will commence on Pulse Kenya’s website starting from September 5, 2023.
The Pulse Influencer Awards will be held simultaneously in Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Senegal, Uganda, and Côte d’Ivoire. The awards aim to celebrate the digital creativity, innovation, and community-building efforts of influencers in Kenya and across the African continent. This event serves as a recognition of individuals who have effectively utilized social media platforms to deliver value, share ideas, and foster large, engaged communities.
Ms Ivy Mugo, also known as “Just Ivy,” was the proud recipient of last year’s Pan African Award and the Most Innovative Influencer title, as well as the coveted Kenya’s 2022 Business Influencer of the Year award.
“Just Ivy Africa was born two months ago when I decided I’d like to give a voice to the voiceless in Africa, especially when it comes to women and money. I feel like this is validating my journey, and I just want to tell content creators out there that this business can pay, and you can change lives and impact the world. The eye is on Africa right now, especially if you are creating content. From Africa to the world, thank you Pulse,” said Ms Ivy Mugo, reflecting on her achievements as the previous winner in the “Most Innovative Influencer” category.
The Pulse Influencer Awards witnessed overwhelming participation last year, with a staggering 864,768 votes cast across various categories, showcasing the vibrant and dynamic digital community in Kenya. This year, Pulse Kenya is eager to witness an even grander celebration with increased audience, influencer, and partner brand participation.
An esteemed jury comprising Dan Obura, Linda Okero, Agnes Opondo, Felistus Gathii, Roy Karuhize, Marvin Loreh, and Julie Nguru will meticulously evaluate the nominees and select the most exceptional talents in the digital landscape.
Innovating to enhance the awards experience, Pulse Influencer Awards 2023 has streamlined the category list from 29 to 24, focusing on core areas of influence. Moreover, a new and exciting award category, the “Next Gen Influencer of the Year,” has been introduced to recognize the efforts of emerging digital creators.
Director of Content at Pulse Kenya, Judysheila Mugo, expressed, “The Pulse Influencer Awards have always been about acknowledging and highlighting the hard work of our influencers. Pulse, as a brand, finds pleasure in acting as a conduit between influencers and different brands that closely collaborate with them. It’s truly fulfilling when an influencer establishes a new connection with these brands, courtesy of the annual award.”
The grand finale of the awards promises to be a dazzling celebration filled with glamour, food and drinks, content creation, and invaluable networking opportunities. The ceremony will be held simultaneously in all six Pulse markets.
