Pilsner, the King Beer has added to the excitement ahead of Ekyooto Ha Mpango Festival by announcing a generous contribution of UGX 150 million towards the celebrations of King Oyo’s 30th Coronation Anniversary.
This announcement coincided with the warm welcome of Princess Ruth Komuntale, who has returned to Uganda for her brother’s Empango festivities on from September 10-13th at Karuzika Palace in Fort Portal Tourism City.

The support from Pilsner Lager highlights a collaborative effort to honor the rich cultural heritage of the Tooro Kingdom and to elevate Uganda’s status as a vibrant tourism destination during this historic celebration.

In a show of solidarity, Pilsner Lager reaffirmed its commitment to honoring the traditions of the Tooro Kingdom with its substantial contribution.

Tooro Kingdom gears up for the festivities
Preparations are in high gear as Tooro Kingdom readies itself for the grand celebration of His Royal Highness Omukama Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV’s 30th Coronation Anniversary set for 12 September in Fort Portal.
The milestone, known as Empango, will mark three decades of Omukama Oyo’s leadership and is expected to draw thousands of guests, dignitaries, and cultural enthusiasts.
The festivities will showcase the rich heritage of Tooro through music, dance, and tradition. Top entertainers including Cindy Sanyu, Irene Hinda, Atwooki Richie, Muzamiru, Big Doug, Zaya Rossette, DJ Hash, and MC Droppa are lined up to thrill audiences, while cultural performances will highlight the kingdom’s enduring legacy.

One of the key highlights will be the EKyooto Ha Mpango, an iconic event held on the eve of the coronation, offering visitors a chance to immerse themselves in the kingdom’s traditions and join the people of Tooro in celebrating their culture.
Princess Ruth Komuntale, who returned home for the celebrations, praised the role of tourism and culture in showcasing the kingdom to the world.
“Tooro has exciting milestones such as the Empango celebrations, and we are honoured to position these events as experiences that attract visitors to our kingdom,” she said.
As Fort Portal prepares to host guests from across Uganda and beyond, the 30th Coronation Anniversary promises not only to celebrate Omukama Oyo’s reign but also to strengthen Tooro’s place as a cultural and tourism hub.
