Photos: The Rubandas celebrate 50 years in marriage by tying the knot

Retired civil servants Elly Rubanda and his wife Agatha Rubanda celebrated golden jubilee in marriage by officially tying the knot.

The couple who hails from Bisheshe, Ibanda Municipality in Ibanda district tied the knot at St. Paul’s Church of Uganda in Ibanda town on Friday 28th December 2018.

To mark the memorable day, the couple hosted their guests to a huge party at their retirement home in Bisheshe.

The couple thanked their children, friends and well wishers for supporting them through all this time and helping them to reach such a milestone.

Rubanda worked as a sub county chief and secretary while his wife Agatha is a retired Primary school teacher.

As her retirement package, she started a school in Bisheshe Trading Centre called Bright Stars.

Several prominent people from in and outside Ibanda graced the duo and these include Ibanda North MP Guma Gimisiriza who hailed the couple for the loving each other. Ibanda Municipality MP Rwaburindore Tarsis, Dr. Benon Mutambi Permanent Secretary Ministry of Internal Affairs, His Worship Jameson Kareemani, David Nuwamanya Administrator Mulago Hospital, Prof John Ntambirweki, senior counsel Goeffrey Kandeebe, Deus Rogers Mulinde, Ignitius Igunduura, Johnson Musinguzi Director Pepper Publications, Northwest Ankole Rt Rev Amos Magezi, Rt Bishop William Rukirande of Kigezi Diocese among other dignitaries.
