Pan African network for artistic freedom (PANAF) launches in Uganda

The Pan-African Network for Artistic Freedom (PANAF) Uganda Chapter has been unveiled.
It was unveiled at a dinner held last evening (Friday 6th May 2022) at Katonga Hall, Hotel Africana.

PANAF Uganda’s objectives is to both the public and private stakeholders in the Film and Music Sectors is to raise awareness of artistic rights & freedoms and present opportunities of collaboration of artists across Africa.
The Pan-African Network for Artistic Freedom (PANAF) is a SELAM funded initiative in Uganda that is being implemented by Pearlwood in partnership with Uganda Musicians Association (UMA), to develop a unified voice for artists, and cultural producers advocating for artistic freedom in the film and music industries.
PANAF was established in November 2021 and implemented in eight countries across Africa.
PANAF is in response to the need of an active and inclusive regional voice in the creative sector.
Actress Ruth Kurt is part of the PANAF Uganda chapter.
