Mrs Ssali has not complied with the Minister’s Directive

Geraldine Ssali

This morning at about 10:30am, Mrs. Geraldine Ssali Busuulwa attempted to gain access to the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) office at Workers House.

She was denied entry because she not yet complied with the pre-conditions for her reinstatement agreed between herself, the Fund and the Minister of Finance, Planning and Economic Development.

On May 9th, 2016, in a letter to the NSSF Board Chairman, the Minister issued directives on how to resolve the dispute following court’s permission for him to drive an out of court settlement.

As a precondition for her reporting back to office, to which she agreed in meetings held with the Minister on May 9, 2016 and May 10, 2016, she is required to withdraw all cases she filed against the Fund.

As of this morning May 16, 2016, when she attempted to report to work, she had not complied with the pre-conditions as agreed with the Minister.

Neither Mrs. Ssali nor her lawyers have filed any withdraw documents with court. In the meantime, the Fund through its lawyers, has shared a draft consent order with her through her lawyers and so far a response is still outstanding.

Unless she complies with the directive as agreed with the Minister, she cannot be allowed back to office.
