DStv and GOtv to Upgrade Subscribers to Higher Packages Throughout June
Kampala: MultiChoice Uganda has announced a month-long customer reward campaign that will see eligible DStv and GOtv subscribers upgraded to the next higher subscription packages at no additional cost.
Dubbed “Open Time,” the campaign is running from 1st June to 30th June, 2026 and is aimed at giving customers access to a broader range of entertainment content, including sports, movies, drama series, children’s programming and documentaries.

The move comes as demand for quality home entertainment continues to grow, with audiences increasingly looking for diverse content options that cater to different interests and viewing habits within the household.

Under the arrangement, subscribers who pay for their current packages will automatically receive access to the next higher package for the duration of the campaign. The upgrade does not require customers to opt in and will be applied once an account is active and fully paid. “Today’s audiences are looking for greater choice and value from their entertainment. Through Open Time, we are giving customers the opportunity to access more content, explore new genres and enjoy an expanded viewing experience throughout June,” said Rinaldi Jamugisa, PR and Communications Manager, Multichoice Uganda.


For DStv customers, subscribers on Compact Plus and Compact packages will be upgraded to DStv Premium, while DStv Family Plus and DStv Family subscribers will move to DStv Compact. DStv Access customers will receive the DStv Family package. DStv Lumba subscribers are excluded from the promotion.
On the GOtv platform, GOtv Supa and GOtv Max subscribers will be upgraded to GOtv Supa Plus, while GOtv Plus subscribers will move to GOtv Max. However, GOtv Value and GOtv Lite subscribers are not eligible for the complimentary upgrade.
The campaign applies to both existing and reconnecting customers whose subscriptions are active during the promotional period. Customers who join the service in June will also qualify for the upgrade once payment is processed.

The temporary upgrades will remain in effect until the end of June, after which subscribers will revert to their original packages. Customers can stay connected or reconnect using the DStv Website, My DStv App, *206#, banking channels or in-person payment points.
