MAAIF hands over surveillance kits & motorcycles to 23 districts in Northern, Eastern Uganda

The Minister of State for Fisheries Hon Hellen Adoa has handed over 23 motorcycles and 106 surveillance kits to 23 District Local Governments in Northern and Eastern Uganda specially for areas that were affected and at risk during the Desert Locust Invasion.
The items are part of a larger consignment received from Development Partners during the regional resource mobilization exercise led by the FAO. Items distributed were specifically from JICA& FAO.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Hellen Adoa who represented her boss Hon Frank Tumwebaze (Minister of Agriculture Animal Industry and Fisheries) thanked the development partners for their unreserved support to the government of Uganda and advised the district leadership teams to remain vigilant in the preparedness efforts towards Desert Locust Control.
“Make use of this equipment to ensure that the lives of our farmers are ultimately improved through closer supervision and advisory services,” Hon Adoa said.
The District Leadership teams receiving the items expressed their gratitude and pledged to exercise prudence and agility in the utilization of these items to support agricultural service provision to the farming communities.
