A few months from now, Kikorongo Safari Lodge is set to open doors to the world of Safari business in Uganda. The new state of the art Safari lodge is located in Southwestern Uganda, 370km about 6 hours via Fort Portal, or 422 km about 7 hours via Masaka-Mbarara-Kasese Rd, from Kampala, Uganda’s capital.
Kikorongo Safari Lodge is sitting directly at the Equator, offering panoramic views of Lake George, Lake Edward and a stunning Crater Lake Kikorongo.
Their strategic location, in the vicinity of Rwenzori Mountains, Rwenzori National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park and the famous Kazinga Channel, makes Kikorongo Safari Lodge a perfect haven for every discerning traveler.
It will have 15 uniquely designed and crafted cottages spread out on over 15 hectares of an incredibly steep landscape. Each cottage is crafted with a custom view of the lakes and surrounding landscape.
Additionally, Kikorongo Safari lodge works closely with locals through different community based projects aimed at job creation and generating income for nearby locals.
While here, on the foothill of the Rwenzori Mountains, you will get opportunity to experience a typical Ugandan rural life of the Bakonzo who are regarded as keepers of the mountains. If you wish to do community encounters, expect narrations by community elders about the ancient traditions and other ways of life of the Bakonzo people.
The management told this website that the Safari lodge is likely to open in November this year.
