Katatumba was meant to pay me UGX6m before it was stolen from Chicken Tonight – Music Producer
From last week, we recall the court hearing on the famous Angella Katatumba Vs Chicken Tonight case heard by the Makindye Court Chief Magistrate Elias Kakooza.
Court had invited Police Dr. Kakembo (who was the first to examine Angella after the attack) to give his testimony.
The police doctor testified in Angella’s favour and later conclusively classified the assault and injuries as Grevious Harm.
Today, the court hearing resumed and Katatumba’s music producer Marvin Nsereko alias Bolt Marvy took to the dock and narrated how the celebrated Singer and Philanthropist and her Jamaican music colleague Kuzi Kz had been recording with his studio since the start of March 2018.
Marvin added that on the day of 31st of March, Angella and Kuzi had spent the entire day putting final touches to their audio collaboration “Out Of My Head” whose video filming was to be done on Monday 2nd of April, 2018.
Marvin further elaborated to court that his studio company had billed the Singer with an invoice of 6,000,000 UGX.
According to the fast-rising music producer, the singer had carried the quoted money in her hand bag in a bundle of 50,000 note denominations with the intention of paying him, but later decided not to clear him after finding out the video equipment wasn’t booked for the upcoming video shoot. He said that him and Angella then agreed that he will be paid the next day, after he has booked the video equipment. Marvin further stated that Angella put the money back in her bag.
The music producer then stated that he remembers the duo leaving his Makindye Salaama Road based music studio at the wee hours of around 3AM to 4AM in the morning of 01st April 2018, only to hear from Angella with news of her attack and money theft from Chicken Tonight Kabalagala.
This shocking story came exactly 2 months after the death of Moze Radio who died in a similar situation. Had Angella been drunk, she may have lost her life. She also narrowly escaped death by falling inches away from the yellow metalic parking polls.

The next hearing date for the case has been set for Wednesday 15th AUGUST, 2018.
