Justice Owiny Dollo appointed new Chief Justice

News from State House sources have this evening confirmed that President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has appointed Justice Alfonse Owiny Dollo, the new Chief Justice.

The letter written by the President to the Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga has nominated Justice Alfonso Owiny-Dollo as Chief Justice and Supreme Court Judge Richard Buteera as his deputy.

Justice Alfonse Chigamoy Owiny-Dollo is the new nominee for the position of the Chief Justice, deputized by Supreme Court Judge Richard Buteera.

Justice Owiny Dollo has been acting Chief Justice since June 20th after the occupant of the office Justice Bart Katureebe retired.

Their appointments are pending until approval by parliament’s vetting comittee.
