H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni Commissions water mains extension in Lwengo

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has commissioned Kasswa, Senya- Bukoto water supply project in Lwengo district.

The project scope;
•6kms of water mains extension from Masaka town to Busanje.
•Construction of a booster station
•11kms of water mains extension from Busanje to Bukoto-Masaka
•Construction of a 100,000 litres capacity water tank on Masaka-Bukoto hill
•17kms of distribution mains to serve the residents
•25 public taps

In his address, H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni commended National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) and the area leadership for the successful completion and supervision of the project.

“I’m happy to learn that my people in Bukatata, Kaswa and the surrounding areas now get clean safe water. I urge NWSC to continue extending water to more people.” he said

Lwengo leaders; Hon Muyanja Mababali, Lwengo LC 5 chairman George Mutabaazi and the Regional Police Commander Latif Zaake appreciated the Government of Uganda, NWSC Board and Management for the various water extensions ongoing across the country.
“We are happy with this project. Acesss to safe clean water will improve the lives of our people,” Hon Muyanja Mbabaali said.

NWSC MD, Dr.Eng Silver Mugisha said that the corporation has expanded it’s service footprint from 24 to over 240 towns of operation in the last four years.
He added that NWSC, and Government of Uganda rolled out a project to connect water to 12,000 villages by 2020 within NWSC operational areas.”


“We are aggressively extending our network to serve more people in all our areas of operation,” Dr Mugisha said.
