Great Turnout at First Ever Rwenzori-sponsored Zumba Fest

On Saturday, fitness enthusiasts, exercise junkies and their families were hosted to the first ever Zumba Fest that was held at Kabira Country Club.

Zumba is an aerobic fitness program featuring movements inspired by various styles of Latin American dance and performed primarily to Latin American dance music. It usually has a trainer leading and motivating the class of participants to try out modern fitness styles and movements synchronized to the music.

Sponsored by Rwenzori Water, a product of the Coca-Cola Company, the 2018 Zumba Fest is the first edition of what will become an annual fitness family event aimed at promoting Zumba as a fitness alternative and creating a culture of working out in a less intense, fun and family-inclusive way.

The 2018 Zumba Fest featured six trained and certified Zumba instructors from Uganda with one guest instructor, famously known as Saidi, from Nairobi.

Mrs. Margaret Kigozi the Coca-Cola Uganda Marketing Manager, “As one of Uganda’s oldest symbols of hydration, we are proud to associate with Zumba Fest in this activity that brings Ugandans together for the purpose of encouraging them to take care of their health by teaching them alternative workout methods.

We pledge to continue providing Ugandans with water that has hydrating and refreshing qualities required to maintain a healthy lifestyle.”

At the Zumba Fest, participants were encouraged to join any of the three classes – beginner, intermediate and advanced – depending on their preferred fitness levels.
