Coke Studio Africa Releases New Single “Said” Feat. Nasty C & Runtown / Video Follows Suit

Coke Studio Africa releases new single “SAID” featuring two of Africa’s brightest stars of our time: Nasty C (South Africa) and Runtown (Nigeria). Produced by Shado Chris, one of Ivory Coast’s most respected music producers and artists, “SAID” is an original song produced at the 2017 edition of Africa’s biggest music show. The original composition truly represents the unique styles of Nasty C and Runtown. Its sound encompasses a perfect new school classic sound perfectly fused in contemporary African music influences.

Coke Studio Africa Project Director and Lead, Monali Shah, says, “We are very keen to continue releasing and promoting original Coke Studio songs. Cutting through West and South Africa, the single ‘SAID’ has united fans across Africa. In a few months, we noticed that its YouTube views are spilt across the continent – representing music fans of the show across different regions.

Following the success of Nasty C and Runtown’s original live performance of the song while at Coke Studio’s recording, a music video has been released.

The producer of “SAID” Shado Chris was part of Coke Studio Super 8 Team of the best African producers tasked with engineering music fusions set to become the next biggest African tunes. Others include: Killbeatz (Ghana), Nahreel (Tanzania), Sketchy Bongo (South Africa), Gospel on the Beatz (Nigeria), Gemini Major (South Africa/Malawi), Masterkraft (Nigeria) and Maphorisa (South Africa). In 2017, Coke Studio also merged Coke Studio Africa with Coke Studio South Africa to include over 18 African countries. Mafikizolo, AKA, Busiswa, Tresor, Amanda Black, Mashayabhuqe and Shekhinah were among top South African music acts featured on Coke Studio Africa – 2017. Other Nigerian stars included Falz, Yemi Alade, Patoranking, Olamide and Chidinma.
